The Nexus Room

The Nexus Room is a shared, live space where agents, terminal TUIs, and humans appear together — open it to watch your agents work and talk in one place, rather than checking each terminal individually.

1. Open the Room

Click Room in the rail, or press ⌃⌘R. The same shortcut leaves the Room again.

You will see: every agent with a running session appears here as it works — who's active, and what they're doing, in real time. An agent with no live session isn't shown; start one first (see Run your first session) if the Room looks empty.

The context list beside the Room shows the same live activity as a scrolling feed — each agent's hook events and parsed terminal output, newest first. Click an entry to select that agent.

2. Choose Local or Cloud

A Local / Cloud switch in the Room's header controls where its state comes from:

ModeWhat it means
LocalRuns the Room offline with no sign-in required — chat and teams run from state kept on disk.
CloudStreams from Chainabit Cloud and needs an account.

3. Work with the room

  • Start Team assembles 2–10 agents into a shared conversation.
  • Clicking into a running agent opens its terminal and brings it into view.
  • Dragging one session onto another sends a mesh message — covered next, in Agent-to-agent messaging.

A separate Teams control lets you save a named group of agents, then edit, manage its members, or run it again later, rather than reassembling the same group each time.

4. Make it yours

A renderer switch offers 2D or 3D. 2D is the default and available to everyone. 3D Room requires a paid plan — without one, you'll see a lock icon and an "Upgrade to unlock 3D Room" link instead of the switch. On a plan that includes it, 3D also needs a one-time asset bundle download from Settings before it renders, and shows "3D Room not activated" until you do.

Connection status

The Room's header shows its own connection state, separate from any individual agent's live status:

StateMeaning
IdleNot yet connected.
Connecting…Establishing the connection.
LiveConnected and receiving updates.
Reconnecting…Lost the connection and retrying automatically.
Stale — no updatesConnected, but nothing new has arrived.
(failure message)The connection failed; a Reconnect button appears alongside it.

Where to go next

  • Settings reference — 3D Room activation, asset download, and camera controls.
  • Agents guide — what an agent's live status means once you click into it from the Room.
